The PPA will hire 30 new parking enforcement officers to focus on ticketing vehicles blocking sidewalks and curb ramps. 
They’ll start issuing warnings during May. After that, fines will be $76 in Center City and $51 in other neighborhoods.

The Philadelphia Police Department has reminded residents that the "No Savesies" rule is in effect during a snowfall -- and any other time.

The Police Department advises citizens not to fight over spots and instead call them.

During A Snowfall:
City residents have a history of saving parking spaces with cones or folding chairs after digging them out, but police maintain that the practice will not be tolerated.

During inclement weather, people may feel inclined to save a parking spot in front of their property or a neighboring street.

This is strictly prohibited.

No one is authorized to save parking spots.
