Are there any short-term parking areas for City vehicles?

Yes; the north side of the 1600 block of Arch Street has been designated as short-term parking for marked City vehicles or those with MG license plates.

No other vehicles are permitted in the short-term parking area. Do not park in the short-term parking area if you do not have a marked City vehicle or one with MG tags or else you will be ticketed and towed.

This short-term parking is available between 7 am and 5 pm.

Can marked City vehicles park in metered spots without paying?

Yes; marked City vehicles can continue to park in metered spots without paying (except those on 15th Street in the new public parking zone on 15th Street between Arch and JFK just to the west of the Municipal Services Building).

Parking of City vehicles is not permitted in this area to give customers of government better access to the Municipal Services Building.

What if I get a parking ticket?

If you receive a parking ticket and don't have a reason to adjudicate, the ticket should be paid by the vehicle's operator.

If there are reasons to adjudicate the ticket, the operator of the vehicle possibly with assistance from the operator's department should adjudicate the ticket.

When departments receive tickets, they should not forward them to the Office of Fleet Management, Managing Director's Office, or any place else for processing.

What do numbered spots mean?

Numbered spots are for elected officials and their staffs only 24 hours a day, seven days a week; City employees or members of the public should not park in numbered spots.

Can I park in City authorized zones during non-business hours?

In all non-numbered, authorized on-street City parking zones, enforcement is conducted between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
