How can I get a copy of a marriage license?
To search Marriage Records online, go to https://www.phila.gov/departments/register-of-wills/marriage-license-search/#/, or make a request by mail with the attached pdf.To reach Marriage Records by phone or email, please dial (215) 686-2204/34, M-F 8 am to 4 pm, or email rowonline@phila.gov. They are at City Hall Room 415, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
What to Expect and When:
A certified copy (for domestic use) of a Marriage License is $40. To have it expedited is $70.
An exemplified copy (for international purposes) is $65. To have an exemplified copy expedited is $95.
An additional $15 service charge is required for mailing. (Delivery time is 3 - 4 weeks.).
You Should Know:
You will need to provide:
- the groom's name,
- the bride's name at the time of application, and
- the date, or at minimum, the year of the application.
- a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
