You Should Know:
The paving season begins in April and ends in November. The current schedule is in the pdf attached to this article. The resurfacing process begins with milling, which is the removal of the top layer of asphalt from the street. The time from milling to resurfacing will normally be within four weeks. This time can be lengthened due to bad weather. The Streets Department also coordinates with utilities. If the utility has street work scheduled for the street being resurfaced, the resurfacing will be scheduled after the utility does their work in the street, so that the new street surface is not disturbed.

Further Information:
There will be parking restrictions to allow crews to complete paving work. Temporary “No Parking” signs will say when cars should move. Moving your car prevents both towing and delays in the project. If your car is towed, it will be towed to a nearby street. Contact your local Police District for the location of the car. A complete list of Police Districts can be found here.
