You Should Know:
Stray Cats
If you have found a healthy, stray cat in your neighborhood the best option for that cat is to leave it alone. The cat may be an outside cat or may live in the neighborhood. ACCT does not pick up healthy, stray cats.

Stray or "Community Cats" can be feral (un-socialized) or friendly, and are present in urban, suburban and rural areas. They are the offspring of abandoned and outdoor pet cats that were never spayed or neutered.

The most effective and humane course of action to reduce and humanely manage community cat populations is Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is not only the compassionate, humane choice but also the most effective option as sterilization ends the reproductive cycle that grows the population.
