How do I request a new ADA Curb Cut or report a damaged one? (SERVICE REQUEST)
Submit a Dangerous Sidewalk Service Request. Select 'Wheelchair Ramp' under 'Sidewalk Curb Problem'. Curb ramps make it easier for pedestrians to travel between the road and sidewalk. If you notice a place where a curb ramp should be installed or repaired, you can report it to the City.
What to Expect and When:
- A new or defective Curb Cut/ADA Curb Ramp Request has no SLA. Projects will be completed as soon as possible.
- A Streets Department inspector will be sent to the address.
- If the defect is verified, a 'Notice to Repair' will be served on the adjacent property owner.
- There is no penalty or fine issued.
- A request for a new ADA Curb Ramp, once approved, will be fulfilled as soon as possible.
-
On average, repairs took about 60 days last year.
-
It may take longer, depending on the backlog.

Reporting Procedures:You will need to provide:
- Your contact information.
- The position of the curb ramp. For example, you should explain whether ramps need to be installed at all corners of an intersection, or if only one ramp needs to be repaired or installed.
- The name of the street that the ramp crosses.
You Should Know:The Streets Department and the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities will review your request.
Further Information:
The Streets Department is required to upgrade ADA ramps under Federal law on all streets that are resurfaced, where the ramp area abuts the street area being resurfaced. If the street is NOT being resurfaced, ramp upgrading is the responsibility of the property owner.
Utilities and developers are also responsible for upgrading ramps when their construction work impacts the corner sidewalk area.
Ramps are currently upgraded where there is a sidewalk present. Ramps are not upgraded or installed on corners where there is no pedestrian walkway, such as open ground or grassy fields, or park areas.
