To find out who owns a parcel, visit opa.phila.gov and use the Office of Property Assessment Property Search Tool or use Atlas.

You Should Know:
The City of Philadelphia, as well as some of the quasi-governmental agencies, owns property in the City.
To find out about city-owned or vacant properties, visit phdcphila.org or call the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority

The great majority of land in Philadelphia is held by private owners.

Residents can request that the Office of Property Assessment conduct a First Level Review, an informal process in which the agency takes a second look at its own work. This is a way to check if the property tax increases are correct.
