Answer
What can be brought to a Household Hazardous Event?
Household hazardous waste collection events are available to residents in the Greater Philadelphia five-county region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties). Businesses must get rid of materials through a private service.

You Should Know:
Click here for the HHW Event schedule. Events occur between April and November every year.

If you have any computer electronics and televisions to dispose of, please bring them to the Sanitation Convenience Centers during normal hours, not to a Hazardous Household Waste Event.

Further Information:
Latex or water-based paint is not hazardous and can be placed in the regular trash if the paint is dried up or solidified with absorbent material, such as kitty litter. Universal waste such as fluorescent light bulbs and lithium, rechargeable, and lead-acid batteries can be dropped off in the new bulb or battery containers at the Sanitation Convenience Centers. Alkaline batteries can be disposed of curbside. Residents are encouraged to wrap tape around both ends of the battery as an added precaution.  Waste materials generated by a business will not be accepted at any of the Household Hazardous Waste Events or at Sanitation Convenience Centers.
