Will the City pick up my trash on a Holiday?
No. The Streets Department's trash collection schedule during a City of Philadelphia Observed Holiday is as follows:
You Should Know:
Trash and recycling collection will be one day behind schedule for the remainder of the week following a city observed holiday.
Trash or recycling collection will NOT take place that day. Residents should place their trash out for collection on the next day.
(For example, if the holiday is observed on Monday and your trash day is Monday, set your trash out for a Tuesday pickup).
This is only for the week of the observed Holiday, normal collection schedule resumes the following week.
On the week of the holiday, each collection day will run one day behind.
(For example, if the Holiday is on a Monday, and your regular trash day is Wednesday, set your trash out for a Thursday pickup)
Election Day in November is not a holiday.
Trash is collected until 7 pm on your trash day.
