The Office of Food Protection
(215) 685-7495 works to ensure that Philadelphia has a safe and healthy food supply, and to reduce the incidence of food-borne diseases.

You Should Know:
They conduct regular inspections of food establishments, regulate food handling practices, and provide food handlers with education about the causes and prevention of food-borne diseases.

Contact the Office of Food Protection for the following:
  • Starting a food business or buying an existing food business
  • Making renovations or operation changes to your food business
  • Becoming a mobile food vendor
  • Requesting an inspection
  • Selling food at a Special Event
  • Need a Food Safety Certificate?
  • Making a complaint about a food business
  • Gotten sick from a food business
